Trust Him in your place and at your pace.
In your place.
Wherever you are now, rest easy knowing He has placed you there to grow, experience, learn and live. So often I catch myself dreaming of the future I forget to live in the moment. I forget to live in the now. I dream and long for the future, my future husband, future opportunities, excitement, etc. I forget that God is doing things now, today. It’s easy to get caught up in what you want and hope for, rather than what is going on around you, especially if what surrounds you is not where you want to be.
But the present is where God needs you most.
What can you do now? How can you learn and grow? You can’t just wait around dreaming of the future, you must live in the place you are now and trust that wherever you are, God is with you and has placed you there on purpose.
How can you expect a fulfilled future if you don’t fill your days most abundantly? How can you desire a stronger relationship with God, a true love, a husband, a career, etc. If you don’t put in the effort today to move forward to whatever it may be.
At your pace.
We can’t rush God’s plan. We have to surrender ourselves to His timing and be disciplined in our patience. We have to defeat our impatience and dwell in His place of peace in his plan. Waiting is part of His plan. We can gain so much in the time in between. He knows what time is best for our hearts and our lives. Rest in that.
If He is always there, holding your hand, loving you more than anyone else in the world, then why do you so desperately long for the future? Call on Him now. Don’t wait. Do something today that your future self will thank you for.
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. 15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before, and God will call the past to account.
Let’s dig in deeper.
God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time. So why stare at your watch? Why worry about where you are, or where you want to be and when you’re going to be there. There’s nothing better to do than do. Have a good time and get the most you can out of life. That’s it—eat, drink, and make the most of it. Time is God’s gift.
Whatever God does, that’s the way it’s going to be, always. No addition, no subtraction. God’s done it and that’s it. So quit asking questions and simply worship. Walk in the light.
Whatever was, is.
Whatever will be, is.
That’s how it always is with God.
Your light to guide me Your hand to hold
Always before me. Always beside me. Always You love me. Always.
