There’s a difference between loving God and knowing God. There’s a difference between a religion and a relationship. When surveys ask you what your religion is, most people say Christian. It’s scary knowing that and seeing how crazy this world is.
So many people nowadays don’t like religion. They don’t like the restrictions, they don’t like the label. And maybe that’s you. Here me out.
- the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
Religion is simply the belief and worship. You start with believing and end in worship.
Some just stop after they believe. There’s more, and it’s beautiful. There’s a relationship.
- the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected
When you start reading, praying, and trusting, a connection with God is established. And it’s not some weird, freaky connection. It’s a strong foundation. And as you let Him come into your daily life, change happens. You see more, you smile more, you’re free.
“He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
It’s not just a relationship with Jesus, it’s a relationship with people. People that keep you accountable, that lift you up, and make you into a better person. You become needed by someone.
“As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.”
When you let Him come into your life more and more, you have a new relationship with yourself. You see more purpose, you find your true identity. You love yourself.
You have to let Him move, let Him love, let Him come, and let Him stay.
Let Him move.
You may hear all these cool stories about Christians and how their life changed you may know friends who have have some pretty rad spiritual moments. Don’t tell yourself it won’t happen to you, it can. He will move in ways you will have never expected.
Ask him for more. Let him show you what he can really do. If your heart is willing & you want God’d glory, & you give him these pieces of your life, something will happen. He waits for us. If you give Him all of you, each piece of your life, He will give you everything you need.
If you ask, He will bring you life changing opportunities. You have to let him move and listen to that little voice in your head telling you to go.
It’s in your passion. It’s in your people. He’s trying to show you.
“hear me. you have a race that no one else can run. so please run.”
passion. now a days, it means a pleasure, something that we love. however, in Latin it means “to suffer.” passion was originally defined as Christ’s suffering for us, to show his love & mercy.
God loves to thread our lives, especially when it comes to passions. our passions come from our sufferings & our pain. your scars are made to show the world something. “you long to give the world what you failed to receive.” God can turn around any situation, he can make the best of the worst. when we give God our suffering, he will thread each piece of your life into something beautiful.
“He built us to love different things so we can meet different needs.” we all have different talents, passions & stories. don’t envy other’s talents because yours is needed, for God’s glory. God calls you to a place, to your people, through your passions. but we can’s move wonderfully without God.
Let Him love you.
“You are loved” they tell you. Do you believe it? Most importantly, do you feel it?
Do you feel loved?
Some days you do, some days you don’t. But each day, you are loved.
Let me prove it.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unfailing kindness”
So start with believing that first, in Jeremiah 31:4, it goes on to say:
“I will build you up again, and you, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.”
His love does that to us. It builds us up again. It makes us dance. But we have to let him love us. We can’t be prideful and living in our own lives. There is no other love like His, so I challenge you to let him love you.
Open your heart.
Let him come.
Surrender. Give him everything. Not just little pieces, everything.
Let him stay.
He didn’t die just to be a season of your life.
Jesus doesn’t want to be just one part of your life, he wants to be your life. I’m sure that sounds crazy to some. But keep in mind he gives us everything we need and more.
You must worship.
Now it’s your turn to give him what he gives you, breath. Worship is giving him the song he first gave you. It’s not just music. It’s a way of living. Serve him. You must obey him. With every person you meet, you don’t have to shove Jesus down their throat, simply give them love and life.
There’s more. He wants you to have more. I want you to experience more.
Just let Him.
